Service is the second of three parts of a faculty member's job.
I spend most of my time during the semester on campus, Monday through Friday. How can I help you?

Service to Moravian College

Faculty serve on one or two College-wide committees. Many committees also have student members. Since I came to Moravian College in 1989, I have served on the January Term, Academic Program, Discipline, and Student Publications Committees, and the LinC Committee's Writing Subcommittee. I have also served on the Computer Advisory and HUB Program Boards. I was a member of the Student Development Task Force of the College's Commission on the Future. I now serve on the Human Subjects Institutional Review Board.

Within the Department, I have served on and chaired search committees and curriculum development committees for undergraduate programs and the MBA.

Service to the Community

Boy Scouting

The Cub and Boy Scout programs were fun and, later on, very important. Now I am a member of the Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America Executive Board. At various times, I have Chaired its Training and Advancement Committees, served as Vice President for Program, and been a member of several other committees.

I have served on several Train the Trainer and Scoutmaster Development training teams and as Scoutmaster for a Junior Leader Training Conference. You can learn more about scouting and my service to it.

National Canal Museum

I have a strong interest in history. When we came to Bethlehem I served for six years on the Board of Trustees of the Hugh Moore Historical Park and Museuems, Inc. (Easton PA) including two years each as its Vice Chair and Chair. While I served on the Board, the organization built a new canal boat for its ride in Hugh Moore Park and built the National Canal Museum at Two Rivers Landing in partnership with Binney & Smith, Inc. and the City of Easton. The organization also operates the Lock Tender's House Museum and the Emerich Technology Center in Hugh Moore Park.
