POETRY CONTEST 2007
Ut pictura poesis: As is painting so is poetry
Sponsored by the Foreign Language Department, the Office of International Studies,
the Spanish Club and USG

All Moravian College students and faculty are invited to submit original poems in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Latin, and Spanish for possible inclusion in our MCFL Poetry Journal. Please note that faculty entries would only be considered for publication, not for the contest. Winning entries will be published in the issue of our MCFL Poetry Journal 2007 and a prize of $25.00 will be awarded to the best poem in each language. All entries will be considered for publication.
Deadline for submissions: April 23rd, 2007
Submission rules:
1. E-mail entries to the faculty sponsor of the language of your preference.
2. Entries should be in 12-point Times New Roman script.
3. The title of the poem should appear at the top and the name of the author should appear at the bottom of the submission.
4. If you like, prepare a short synopsis in English (5-6 lines) of the poem or an author’s note containing information that may enhance the reader’s enjoyment or understanding of the poem. If you wish, you can include a visual explanation of your poem.
5. Include a separate sheet of paper with your name and a brief statement about yourself in English that may be printed on the Contributors’ Page (For example: major, minors, other interests, etc.).*
