HI/RE 214: Classical Mythology

Course Description: We will read and discuss the most influential versions of the major myths of ancient Greece. We will also examine the role of myths and myth-making in Greek life and consider major modern approaches to interpreting the tales. Main texts include the Homeric Hymns, Hesiod's Theogony, and Ovid's Metamorphoses.
