David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarships
(sponsored by the National Security Education Program). Supports study abroad

sophomores only). Study of a common language, e.g. French or Spanish, permitted
only at advanced level. Service requirement after graduation.

James Madison Foundation (for
students planning to teach American history at the high school level)
Samuel Huntington Public Service Award. Offers to graduating college seniors a $10,000
stipend for a public service commitment anywhere in the
world. You can design your own proposal or work within an
established public service organization, for a period of
six months. It has a February 15 deadline. For

J.W. Saxe Memorial
Prize. $1,000 award to
undergraduates or graduates working in public service. Meant to enable students
to gain practical experience
in public service by taking a no-pay of low-paying job
during the summer (for an
internships, perhaps) or other term.
Paul and Daisy
Soros Fellowships for New Americans (for graduate
study in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and
sciences; restricted to "new Americans," i.e.
individuals who have applied for naturalization or been
naturalized, or whose parents are both naturalized
citizens)
Rotary
Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships (include
Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarships, Multi-Year
Ambassadorial Scholarships, and Cultural Ambassadorial
Scholarships). Support residence in almost any country
where there is a Rotary Club; vary in length from 3 mos.
to 2 yrs.

Wildlife Federation Resources Conservation Internships (introduction
to environmental policy, the legislative process and the
environmental community. Two 24-week internship

Anne Armstrong Leadership Awards (sponsored by the
Center for Strategic and International studies to
recognize undergraduates who demonstrate a high potential
for leadership in international affairs; serve as

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior
Fellowships (substantive work experience for up to 11
students each year who have a serious career interest in
international affairs; for graduating seniors). You must

fellowships for recent graduates contemplating law school
or graduate education in areas related to public policy
