Reis Kessel Meteorite Impact Crater
(all photographs by J. Gerencher)

The Reis Kessel (or Basin) is approximately 20 km in diameter.
It is located in Germany along the Romantische Strasse,
with the town of Nordlington in its approximate center.
The low hills are all that remain of the crater walls.

View directly across the center from one crater wall
to the other crater wall, about 20 km (16 miles) away.
The flat floor of the crater is used for productive agriculture.
