Tornado Damage Page

On August 11, 1983, a tornado moved through the Lehigh Valley from northwest to southeast, touching the ground, lifting above the ground, touching, lifting, etc.  The photographs below were taken within the city of Bethlehem, PA, on August 12, 1983.


A partially-constructed house was collapsed by the winds.

A barn was blown down.
Sidersville Road, near Gilly Avenue.

This mature willow tree was decimated
near the top but relatively unaffected near the base.
