Sunsets

I photographed the images below from my driveway on 12 July 2020 using my Canon T4i digital camera with my 28mm to 200mm Tamron zoom lens set at maximum zoom. The subject is the sun setting behind a tri-peaked hill on the valley floor, which is on my western horizon. The images were taken 22 days past summer solstice. At summer solstice (July 20 or 21) the sun sets at its most northerly direction, and at winter solstice (December 21) the sun sets at its most southerly direction. Between these dates, it sets in progressive directions intermediate to these two extremes. For the images below, the sunset that would occur on each successive evening would be moving progressively from a more northerly position (from the right) to a more southerly position (to the left). These images show the path of the setting sun on only one date, July 12th.
