Edward C. Schultz graduated from Moravian in 1962 with a degree in history. After earning his masters degree from Lehigh, he worked as a social studies teacher for 31 years in the Parkland School District. He was a member of the Lehigh County Historical Society, Friends of the National Park at Gettysburg, Lehigh Valley Postcard Club, International Federation of Postcard Dealers, and the Philadelphia Art Museum.
Ed Schultz loved being a part of the Moravian College community and was truly proud that he was an alumnus of the sixth oldest college in the country. In 2003, he established an endowment for the E.C. Schultz History Award, a $1,000 award to a graduating history major who “has demonstrated distinction in historical scholarship and who has indicated a commitment to continued excellence and studies in the field.”
Schultz was an avid collector of Lehigh Valley postcards, and at his death in 2004, Nancy, his wife donated his collection of Moravian College postcards to the College Archives to encourage students to study, appreciate, and enjoy their heritage.
