House portraits are one of my specialties. Since my first house portrait commissions in 1985, I've completed hundreds of portraits of homes, schools, businesses, vacation cabins, and places of worship. I've painted everything from Georgian mansions to gas stations, from elementary schools to electrical supply businesses. Most of my commissions are homes of all ages, sizes, and styles. They range from old farmhouses to new estate homes, from townhouses to suburban homes and rural properties. Any home can be showcased by its unique features, from landscaping to doorways to mailboxes to whatever makes the house "home." House portraits have been dones as gifts – holiday, birthday, retirement, anniversary, wedding, new home – but many are "gifts" for the homeowner!

Changes to landscaping and buildings are usually possible – just ask! Planning to add a brick sidewalk next year? I can add it now! I can trim the trees, make them bigger or smaller – or move them! I like to take the pictures during the season of year you wish to showcase, but I can make it snow.

Completion time:
I'm usually back-ordered for several months, although rush orders are sometimes possible, especially in summer. I am busiest in fall with holiday orders – they should be received by September, earlier if possible. Plan ahead if you need delivery by a certain date – order early!

Photography:
I prefer to photograph the house myself if at all possible and will travel within approximately one hour of my home near Bethlehem to do so. (If it's a surprise, let me know when the occupants aren't home.)

If you take the photographs, please talk it over with me so you can take the angles and close-ups that I need to best showcase the building. Your photos must be either 35mm or digital of high enough resolution so the colors and details are clear. The better the photos, the better the finished painting. I can even work from antique photos, even black-and-white, if you talk me through the colors.
