North American Travel
I have driven in all 50 states and in the 7 Canadian provinces that border the 48 contiguous states. With the exception of the national parks that are located in Alaska, I have visited 46 of the 53 current national parks. The national parks outside Alaska that I have not (yet) visited are listed on a separate page.
I have traveled in the following Central American locations:
Caribbean area (Puerto Rico,
Saint Maartin, Bermuda, and the

I travel abroad almost exclusively by rented car because I always feel the need to
investigate interesting rocks and geologic features that I see along the way.
I have traveled in 19 countries of Western and Central
Europe, but have not
yet been to the following:
Albania
British Isles (except
for England)
Finland
former Yugoslavia
I have also traveled within Africa to both Egypt and Tanzania, and I have traveled within China, but none of these travels involved my driving.
