Emission Spectrum
Emission Spectrum of Helium
Fujichrome 100 color slide film was used with a 2.4-inch refracting telescope to make this 30 second exposure of a helium emission tube. The image was passed through a 5-prism spectrograph prior to being spread across the film. The telescope and emission tube were set up on opposite ends of the darkened Earth Science classroom, a distance of approximately 40 feet.
