Splashing Water Drop

This stop-action photograph of a water droplet splashing into a container of water was triggered by the ripple of the water surface which disturbed a reflected light beam.  The light beam can be seen in the photograph immediately behind the water splash.  The light-activated circuit was designed and built by Dr. James Green.  The photograph was made on Plus-X film.
